Terms of Service

Last updated: 26 October 2026

These terms cover the applications and services operated by Victor Seiji Hariki (the "Services") — in particular Home Hariki, a private, self-hosted Home Assistant instance at hassio.seijihariki.com, and the other self-hosted tools under seijihariki.com. They are a hobby project shared with family and friends, not a commercial product, and come with no guarantee of availability, support or data durability.

1. Acceptance

By using a Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to every Service unless a Service states otherwise.

2. What the Services are

The Services are privately operated software provided free of charge, by invitation, for personal and non-commercial use. They may be changed, suspended, taken offline or shut down permanently at any time and without notice, for any reason, including simply because the operator no longer wants to maintain them.

3. Your account

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

The operator may suspend or delete an account that breaks these rules, at their discretion and without prior notice.

5. Your content

You keep all rights to the content you put into the Services. You grant the operator only the limited permission needed to store, copy for backup, and process that content in order to run the Service for you. You confirm you have the rights needed to upload it.

Content stays as long as your account exists or until you delete it, subject to rolling backups. See the Privacy Policy for details and for how to request deletion.

6. Third-party services and optional Google integrations

Some Services can talk to third parties — for example Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Nest or Google Assistant from Home Assistant, or Google nodes inside an n8n workflow. Every one of these is optional and is set up by you, from inside the tool that needs it: nothing is connected on your behalf, and you can disconnect it again at any time.

When you connect one, you authorise that tool to access your account on the terms shown on the third party's consent screen, and the third party's own terms and privacy policy apply to their side of that relationship. The operator does not control those services and is not responsible for their availability, their changes, or how they handle your data. Only connect accounts you own or have permission to use.

7. Service availability, backups and data loss

The Services are provided on a best-effort basis. Downtime, bugs, corrupted files and data loss are possible. Backups are made when convenient and may be incomplete. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. No uptime, response time, recovery time or data-retention guarantee of any kind is given.

8. No warranty

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy and uninterrupted or error-free operation, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost data, lost profits, or service interruption arising out of or related to your use of the Services. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the Services, which is zero.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time and ask for your account and data to be deleted. The operator may suspend or terminate access, with or without cause and with or without notice, including if a Service is being retired. On termination, data may be deleted without further notice, subject to the retention notes in the Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the Services evolve. The date at the top of the page reflects the current version, and material changes are announced to the users of the affected Service. Continuing to use a Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes rights you have under mandatory consumer or data-protection law in your own country.
